With a warm tip of the hat to the BBC’s wonderful, long-running classic show “Desert Island Discs“, we offer you the 5X2. Here’s the premise: you’re a passenger on a cool, futuristic spacecraft hurtling toward the far reaches of the cosmos. Your ride is first rate. It’s comfortable as can be. The food’s great! Almost everything has been done to make this journey painless. There’s only one problem: they ran out of money and memory when they got to the entertainment system. All there’s room for is 5 MOVIES 2 SONGS. The 5X2.
That’s it.
The good news? You get to choose which five movies and two songs will be your entertainment for the next however long. They better be movies and songs you won’t mind seeing and hearing again and again and again. And a few dozen more times after that. So, these have got to be the 5 movies and 2 songs you not only love, but can tolerate beyond the point of boredom.
Hopefully, that criteria will help you narrow your list a bit.
Today’s guests – The Dads From The Crypt – are family as far as this podcast is concerned. They’re one of our executive producers. Jason Stein, Jody Webster and Armando Aguilar have been doing their podcast together for years now! They’ve got a loyal audience – and why wouldn’t they?
How can you not love a podcast that reviews all the episodes of Tales From The Crypt (and the movies Demon Knight and Bordello Of Blood) and also gives parenting advice?
The Dads are true movie aficianados. They made some fascinating movie choices for their long space voyage.
Some intriguing song choices, too. What, you think we’d give it all away here? Let them tell it themselves…
